MY RESEARCH EXPLORES HOW MEDIA CAN SHAPE OUR HISTORY, SOCIETY, AND PERSONAL IDENTITIES.
My name is Clarissa Dionisio and I specialize in Film and Media production and research. Based in Springfield, Virginia, I later moved to Williamsburg to complete my undergraduate from the College of William and Mary where I earned my degree in Film and Media Studies. I have completed various research papers discussing, but not limited to, feminist film theories, Chinese art history, and LGBTQ+ literature. I have experience in pre, onset, and post production and explored the process of the film industry through this.

Through my years of experience in film, I have learned about the authenticity films are able to offer through their creative forms. Films are able to give the world different perspective on ethics and social issues and enables us to enlighten ourselves after watching. The creativity filmmakers show within their work keeps us engaged, and persuades us to learn. The beauty of film and media comes from its infinite forms—where art, knowledge, and humanity combines into one to share stories through unlimited words.
As a researcher, I investigate cultural and social issues in different mediums and tie them to technical elements in film and media. Philosophy and historical context is pertinent to better explain to the audience about varying topics, where my research papers displays my experience in this. My hands-on experience in pre, onset, and post production makes me flexible in the film industry and causes a deeper understanding in technical practices, aiding my research.
